FDD mooring dolphins at Jeddah - K.S.A

PROJECT:  FDD mooring dolphins at Jeddah  - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

CLIENT: Saudi Condreco Co Ltd.
ASSOCIATED OFFICES: M. Kavvadas

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The project consists of:
  • Two mooring dolphins 28.00x18.40m2 and 25.00x18.40 m2, each equipped with two connection devices to FDDs. The mooring dolphins consist of prefabricated and cast in situ reinforced concrete and supported on steel piles D914 at sea depths of about 14.0m. Applied environmental forces are on the order of 10.5MN for each mooring dolphin at deck level plus 20% in the other horizontal direction and the vertical.
  • Two abutments, bearing steel access bridges to Floating Dry Docks with dimensions in plan, each,5.00x3.5m2 The abutments consist of prefabricated and cast in situ reinforced concrete and supported on one steel pile D914 at sea depth of about 14.0m.
  • A logistics platform 14.3x18.4m2, in plan, with heavy floor loads (live load 50kPa). The platform consists of prefabricated and cast reinforced concrete and founded on depth ~ 14.0m supported on steel piles D914.
  • Steel connecting FDD to mooring dolphin devices capable to transfer forces about 6MN plus 20% in the other horizontal direction and the vertical.

Design included pre-dimensioning and full design at detailed stage.

The project has been completed.
