  • To whom are these frequently asked questions placed for, in this site?
These are mainly questions concerning those who are not engineers and are very common issues regarding Greek practice but still may be valuable for engineers too.
The reason why is because, although the answer is many times obvious, still a large proportion of those interested will not respond correctly.
  • Why be referred to skilled engineers?
Today everything has become very complex and it is almost impossible to be monitored by a single person. Characteristically the following, as an example, can be said:
Civil engineers are divided into those dealing with research, education, designing projects, construction, administration, trade (even politicians), etc. In each of these (except politicians) there are subcategories such as port engineers, road planners, structural, hydraulic, geotechnical, environmental, etc.
The subcategories have also specializations and usually (possibly excluding specializations) is not common someone to be very familiar with the subject of another subcategory. All the above are within the same group (study, education, construction, etc.) So how in generality.

Conclusion: Current projects are very expensive and complex to expect that may be manoeuvred by not specialized engineers.
  • How good engineer do I need for my project?
The best, as it may seem excessive, as long he has the intention and the final result (design + supervision + construction) will be for the owner of the Project (or the contractor). Each project is worth less cost and better quality.
