Constantinopleos Street bridge

PROJECT:  Detailed design of the bridge at Constantinopleos Street.

CLIENT: OSE S.A. (Hellenic Railways Organization SA)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
 
The design was undertaken to stage the detailed design and is one of the bridges needed to create interchange overpass of existing rail lines and connecting the Constantinople Street to Diligianni street, next to the central railway station of Athens, just after Lenorman underpass bridge. The project is part of the work to upgrade the R.S. of Athens.
The bridge consists of two branches curved in plan. The structural system is portal frame with one girder as superstructure that has 1.25m structural height. The spans are:
Left branch:      L = 16.18 +29.97 +22.28 = 68.43m, width 9.95m
Right branch:    L = 17.54 +30.03 +20.98 = 68.55m, width 9.95m
The piers are single round columns and the foundation is on bored piles D100
