PROJECT:  Preliminary structural design for the architectural competition for the Medical School of Larissa

CLIENT: University of Thessaly.                                   

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
 
Preliminary work for the architectural competition. The work offered was of reinforced concrete and covered an area:
  1. Basement: 7900m2 in plan
  2. Ground floor: 19300m2 in plan including an auditorium with a main hall of 22x45m2
  3. First floor: 10000m2 in plan
  4. Second floor: 5100m2 in plan.
Total project area about 42000m2.

Shallow foundation, on foundation beam grids, the whole project was designed over a period of 5 days and was drafted on cad (autocad) with the equipment of the time being (eg, VGA screens 12 " wide ).
 
The architectural competition was awarded to another design, however, this structural design received the best review.
