PROJECT:  Containers terminal for the new port of Kavala at Nea Karvali

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
 
Design of the structural part of the reinforced concrete superstructure with all auxiliary structures (pre-slabs, manholes, etc.) and the reinforced concrete cellular boxes (Caissons) for the infrastructure of the port.
  • The superstructure slabs are cast on Caissons, that form port infrastructure, in part on pre-slabs and in part on cell fill (as it fill the cell does not extend to the crest of boxes). Four basic types of superstructure designed, that may carry container crane.
  • Cellular boxes (Caisson) have dimensions in plan and height 11.0m 20.9mx11.7m and are divided into 2 rows of cells with 5 cells on each row. Tree basic types of boxes designed and one variation.
